I've been listening to a beautiful podcast miniseries, Noble, which is about the 2002 Tri-State Crematory investigation. The crematory manager stowed hundreds of people's remains on the premise instead of cremating them. The presenter, journalist Shaun Raviv, does a great job exploring the story in a sensitive and thoughtful way. I wanted to add a few more podcasts on similar topics to form a little set:
• CBC Ideas' 2014 exploration of changing funeral practices
Ologies' 2022 interview with "thanatologist" and grief expert Cole Imperi
• Jamie Loftus' 2022 series Ghost Church, about the American Spiritualism movement and its claims of contacting the dead
• Finally, the 2021 episode of You're Wrong About about how exploitative true crime media -- which Noble is not! -- affects our brains.
